Creatures of the Night at Herdsman Lake
Friday 8 November - 6pm - 8pm
Meet Herdsman’s Creatures of the Night and help save our frogs!
See the animals of Herdsman Lake from a very different perspective at a unique night-time event at the Herdsman Lake Wildlife Centre, and take part in an important Citizen Science project at the same time.
Wear your gumboots and bring a head-torch for a very special opportunity to see some of the nocturnal animals of Herdsman Lake - including frogs, spiders, nocturnal birds and more - at their most active, after dark!
The event coincides with the Australian Museum’s FrogID Week and we will be contributing to this important Citizen Science project by encouraging attendees to download the Frog ID app on their smart phone to record frog calls during the evening.
Tickets are $16 per person or $50 per family, which includes the sausage sizzle, informative talk and guided walk. Friends of the WA Gould League are $12 per person or $40 per family.
Citizen Science - FrogID Week
Australia’s frogs need your help!
From 8-17 November 2019, take part in FrogID Week, Australia’s biggest frog count!
Our frogs are under threat from habitat loss, disease and climate change – taking part in FrogID Week will help provide our scientists with valuable data for the protection and conservation of frogs.
We are incorporating the FrogID project into our Creatures of the Night event, by encouraging participants to download the app and record frog calls on the night.
