WA Seabird Rescue will talk to us about the impacts of plastic pollution in our wetlands in this special volunteer event. Be part of the solution and join our volunteers with a wetland clean up afterwards.

PROPOSED SCHEDULE:
10:00 am Registration and introductions
10:10 am Talk by Halina from WA Sea Bird rescue: focussing on waterbirds and plastic pollution, impacts of fishing line and a 'show and tell' with materials found around entangled birds.
10:30am Morning tea and briefing for the clean-up
10:50am Break into teams and head off for the clean-up of the lake
11:50am Meet back at the centre to discuss findings and catalogue rubbish collected.
12:00 noon Session ends
What to bring: Water bottle, closed shoes, gloves, suitable clothing for outdoor work
