About the Event
Thanks to funding through the Better Beginnings Family Literacy Community Grants Program, administered by the State Library of Western Australia, the WA Gould League is excited to launch a new early literacy program called Bookworms.
The aim is to help local families feel confident and supported in sharing books and stories with their young children (aged 0 to 5 years) while also celebrating Western Australian authors.
Bookworms will be held at Herdsman Lake Discovery Centre from 10:00-11:30am on the first Saturday of each month, supported by WAGL playgroup facilitators Chantelle, Leigh & Sarah.
Many sessions will feature a reading from a special guest author, with opportunities for book signings and an informal chat with families. The reading will be followed by fun craft stations facilitated by WA Gould League playgroup staff. There will also be indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy additional books with your child.
