About the Event
World Migratory Bird Day is on May 11th, an annual global campaign championing the conservation of migratory birds and their habitats. Join the WA Gould League in raising awareness and taking action to safeguard these incredible creatures.
The Herdsman Lake Discovery Centre is proud to present 'Wild Wanderings', a specially curated art exhibition and workshop series showcasing the beauty and fragility of Australia's migratory shorebirds. In this first workshop, learn introductory relief printing techniques to create a unique and beautiful shorebird artwork to be treasured always.
Led by artist and teacher Leigh Patterson-Kane, participants will work with soft-carve lino blocks, a medium that is easier to manipulate than traditional lino. With step by step instructions, print one or more designs on high quality cardstock that can be turned into a gift card or framed artwork.
