About the Event

Herdsman Lake Discovery Centre is about to have some special reptile and amphibian visitors this school holidays! Tessa from Tessa’s Reptile Service is presenting a two-hour hands-on educational experience, where children can get up close and personal with a range of ectothermic creatures.

Visiting animals will include: a Bobtail Skink, a Western and Northern Blue Tongue Skink, Bearded Dragon, Ridgetail Monitor, Longnose Dragons (or Tata lizards), Northern Tree Frogs, and various snakes including a Stimson python, Carpet Snake, Woma, and Olive Python.

Tessa also works for Native Animal Rescue as their venomous snake and reptile rehabber, and has lots of great information and fun facts to share. She is passionate about increasing reptile awareness and empathy, and works to build handling confidence by introducing smaller snakes before larger species.

This family-friendly event will run from 10am to 12pm on Saturday 1st of October at the Herdsman Lake Discovery Centre (Cnr Flynn & Selby Streets, Wembley).
