About the Event
The Discovery Centre is very lucky to be joined by Craig Carter (currently being nominated as Adjunct Professor within the Discipline of Engineering and Energy, Murdoch University), who will be giving two expert talks in April on renewable energy. This is the second of those talks, titled 'Development of Wind Generation in Western Australia'. He will be discussing local renewable energy projects and future planning, and field relevant questions from our community.Â
Craig has decades of industry and academic experience, having devoted 18 years of his electrical engineering career to the planning and design of renewable energy projects within WA. His roles at Western Power and then Verve Energy gave him the opportunity of being a pioneer in the development of wind and solar PV generation. He developed the 'Renewable Buyback Scheme' (REBS), and also played a major role in nearly all of WA's coastal wind farms, and finally in the Greenough River Solar Wind Farm, Australia's first large-scale solar farm near Geralton. He is now a part-time guest lecturer, student supervisor and research consultant at Murdoch University.Â
