About the Event

Noongar people are the traditional owners of the south-west of Western Australia and have been for over 45,000 years. There is a deep knowledge and respect for country, which has been passed down by elders. Learn more about Noongar culture in this exciting school holiday adventure!

DETAILS: Local elder Neville Collard, of Nyungar Birdyia land, will join us at Noogenboro (Herdsman Lake) for some indigenous storytelling and campfire cooking. Come and taste damper and kangaroo stew, listen to some stories make some traditional crafts.

WHAT TO BRING: Please bring a water-bottle, long pants and closed-in shoes.

AGES: Recommended for ages 4-12 years, but all are welcome.

DURATION: The session runs for

two hours. Participants can also explore the centre and surrounds for the day or enjoy a picnic on the grass afterwards.
