Learn more about Noongar culture these school holidays with local Elder Neville Collard. Come and taste campfire-made damper and kangaroo stew, get involved in some indigenous storytelling and make some traditional crafts.

About the Event
Noongar people are the traditional owners of the south-west of Western Australia and have been for over 45,000 years. There is a deep knowledge and respect for country, which has been passed down by elders. Learn more about Noongar culture in this exciting school holiday adventure!
DETAILS: Local elder Neville Collard, of Nyungar Birdyia land, will join us at Noogenboro (Herdsman Lake) for some indigenous storytelling and campfire cooking. Come and taste damper and kangaroo stew, listen to some stories make some traditional crafts.
WHAT TO BRING: Please bring a water-bottle, long pants and closed-in shoes.
AGES: Recommended for ages 4-12 years, but all are welcome.
DURATION: The session runs for
two hours. Participants can also explore the centre and surrounds for the day or enjoy a picnic on the grass afterwards.
PRICE: Tickets are $30 per participant (Parents/Carers Free). Friends of the WA Gould League receive a 15% discount on all Holiday Adventures. Please sign in to your membership to receive your discount at checkout.
DIETARY REQUIREMENTS: Although we cannot cater for all dietary requirements due to the nature of the program, we will try and accommodate where we can. Please contact us directly at least 1 week prior to the event.Â
Please note that this is NOT a drop-off programme, and all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Parents/carers are welcome to make use of the coffee window, lakeside seating & free Wi-fi.
