About the Event

About: This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of birdwatching and meet like-minded people in the local community.

Date: Sunday 20th March (re-occurring each month, please continue to check website for specific dates)

Time: 8 - 10am

Presenters: Birdlife Australia

Cost: FREE for WAGL Friends and Birdlife Australia members; $10 for general public. All funds raised go to WAGL to support our environmental educational programs and to keep the centre running.

What’s included: Presentation on Herdsman Lake birdlife, bird watching techniques and how to use binoculars effectively. Guided birdwalk around the picturesque Herdsman Lake where you are guaranteed to see a variety of birdlife. Tea & coffee (gold coin donation) and free entry to the Discovery Centre during the event. Binoculars will be provided for participants who don’t BYO.

What to bring: Water bottle, hat, suitable clothing for weather conditions (also a good idea not to wear anything bright), binoculars or spotting scope if you have one.

Other info: Maximum 30 participants

Please note a COVID event plan will be in place – physical distancing, sanitization measures, proof of vaccination, contact registers and increased indoor ventilation will be in place, with the majority of the event held outdoors in open space.
