Monthly Morning Birdwalk (18 June)

About: This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of birdwatching and meet like-minded people in the local community. 

Date: 18th June 2023, reoccurring every third Sunday of the month  (please continue to check website for specific dates)

Time: 8.00am - 10.00am  (cooler weather hours)

Presenters: Birdlife Western Australia

Cost: FREE for WAGL Friends and Birdlife Australia members; $10 for general public. All funds raised go to WAGL to support our environmental educational programs and to keep the centre running. For Birdlife members, please notify our admin officer via email or phone that you will be attending and they can add you to the guest list.

What’s included: Presentation on Herdsman Lake birdlife, bird watching techniques and how to use binoculars effectively. Guided birdwalk around the picturesque Herdsman Lake where you are guaranteed to see a variety of birdlife. Also included is instant tea and coffee making facilites and free entry to the Discovery Centre during the event, with barista coffee available for purchase. Binoculars can be borrowed for participants who don’t own a pair. 

What to bring: Water bottle, hat, suitable clothing for weather conditions (recommended not to wear anything bright), binoculars or spotting scope if you have one.
