About the Event
About: This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of birdwatching and meet like-minded people in the local community.
Date: Third Sunday of the month  (please continue to check website for specific dates)
Time: 8.00am - 10.00amÂ
Presenters: Birdlife Western Australia
Cost: FREE for WAGL Friends and Birdlife Australia members; $10 for general public. All funds raised go back to Birdlife WA and WAGL (both non-for-profit organisations) to support our environmental educational programs and ongoing use of the centre. For Birdlife members, please notify our admin officer via email or phone that you will be attending and they can manually add you to the guest list.
What’s included: A presentation on the birds of Herdsman Lake, followed by general birding information such as species identification, bird calls and binocular use.
Go for a guided birdwalk around the picturesque Herdsman Lake where you are guaranteed to see a variety of birdlife. Also included is tea and coffee making facilities and free entry to the Discovery Centre during the event. Barista coffee also available to purchase from our coffee window Twitchers. Binoculars can be provided for participants who don’t own a pair.Â
What to bring: Water bottle, hat, suitable clothing for weather conditions (recommended not to wear anything bright), binoculars or spotting scope if you have one.
