About the Event
Liven up your school holidays with a fascinating visit from Phil 'The Bug Man' Moore and his minibeast entourage!
After Phil's hugely popular display at the 2022 Wildlife Show, he is pleased to return for a special school holiday program, bringing a variety of stick insects, spiny leaf insects, monarch caterpillars, mealworms, katydids, tadpoles and frogs, spiders, slugs and snails as well as a variety of backyard bugs. Phil will give a 1-hour informative presentation and introduce each species, with plenty of hands-on interaction. Then we're going on a bug hunt; we're not scared! Safely capture a variety of local insects and study them under a microscope.
For those interested in keeping insects as pets, Phil will also have some insect/tadpole kits for sale on the day.
Please note this is not a drop-off program, and a responsible carer or adult must be present at all times. Adults are welcome…
