Introduction to Improv Theatre!

Improvisation is the dramatic art of creating something out of nothing. No script, no rehearsal. Just you, your scene partner(s) and whatever comes to mind. Sounds difficult and scary? We assure you it isn’t!

Improv is all about being present in the moment and what better surroundings to practice this than against the backdrop of the magnificent Herdsman Lake?

In this workshop, lead by guest presenter Christian Hückstädt, we will explore the fundamental principles of Improv theater and play a couple of scenes together, preferably outside.

Whether you're a stage veteran, an aspiring actor or simply curious about the art - this class is for everyone. Even if you're a little shy or doubtful right now - we encourage you to step out of your comfort zone.

One of the core principles of Improv is letting go of our expectations to create something "good" or "funny".

Making mistakes and failing is an integral part of the artistic process. And often the very mistakes you're trying to avoid are exactly what make a scene funny.

*Please note this NOT a drop off program and for insurance purposes, all participants under 16yrs must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Adults are welcome to make use of the free Wifi and coffee window whilst in supervision of their minor.
