About the Event
Have a much loved piece in your wardrobe that needs a little TLC? Have you always wanted to try indigo dying yourself?
In this 2 hour creative workshop, led by Carly from Rivarossa Botanicals, participants can bring 1–2 pieces of natural-fibre clothing to upcycle — such as cotton, linen, hemp, or other plant-based fabrics. Learn the foundations of how to transform your wardrobe, using traditional indigo dye techniques. You’ll learn how to prepare an indigo vat from scratch, explore a range of Shibori folding and binding methods to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind patterns.
No experience with dyeing or fabrics are needed — just curiosity and clothes ready for a fresh new look.
Great items to bring include shirts, socks and lightweight pants.
A light morning tea will be served and Twitchers Cafe window will be open for barista coffee purchases.
