Embrace the weekend with a relaxing afternoon in the company of family and friends, surrounded by the beauty of Herdsman Lake! 

This FREE event has been sponsored by the WA Parks Foundation and their ‘Spring Into Parks’ initiative, and will feature some very special inclusions. 

This event includes a range of fun family activities nestled under the trees and throughout the centre, as well as some fantastic sustainability stalls, workshops and talks.

Sustainable Displays & Talks - Learn sustainable practices, tips and tricks from an array of environmentally conscious  community groups & organisations.

Market Stalls - Browse some local goodies that are made with a sustainable focus. Includes jewellery, textiles, collectibles, stationery, skincare, cleaning products and more.

Composting workshop - Learn all about different composting methods and troubleshoot composting conundrums in this informative workshop.Food Trucks & Coffee Van - Grab something tasty from Street Food Lab, Juice Station, Latte Lab, or the WAGL fundraising pumpkin soup stand!

Facepainting - Avoid the microplastics and have your face painted with bio-degradable glitter!

Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle - Learn different methods of repairing goods and minimising waste before taking part in a recycling challenge.

Sustainable crafts - Make beeswax wraps, seed paper, insect hotels, terrariums and recycled assemblage - learn how to use repurposed items to create sustainable goods.

Clothes Swap - Bored of your wardrobe? Got items that don’t fit? Kids grown too quickly? Bring along a maximum of 3 good quality items of clothing to swap and embrace circular fashion!

Toy Library - play with toys from Scarborough Toy Library, a brilliant way to change up your toy collection without having to buy new.

There will of course be the regular favourites too, including aquatic scooping, guided nature walks, and hands-on nature activities and crafts. You can also explore the centre and meet our animals, test the interactive exhibits, browse the nature gift shop, and grab a barista coffee, hot chocolate, or sweet treat from our coffee window Twitchers. 

Entry is free but bookings are essential as tickets are limited.
