Family Nature Day (7 August)

Spend a relaxing afternoon with family and friends, surrounded by the beauty of Herdsman Lake! Djilba is a great time of year to be visiting, as the birdlife and aquatic invertebrates are really thriving.

This fun family event includes aquatic scooping, guided nature walks, and hands-on nature activities and crafts. Explore the centre and meet our animals, explore the interactive exhibits, browse the gift shop, and grab a barista coffee, hot chocolate or donut from our coffee window Twitchers. 

For junior wildlife warriors, you can try out the new wildlife rescue roleplay kits! Don your mini scrubs, and assist in rehabilitating and feeding some native animals (the soft toy kind).

Bookings are essential. Entry is $10 per person, $30 per family or FREE for Friends of the WA Gould League. All proceeds of the Family Nature Day go towards ongoing nature education & community initiatives.

Please note a COVID event plan will be in place – physical distancing, sanitization measures and increased indoor ventilation will be in place, with the majority of the event held outdoors in open space.
