As the sun dips below the horizon and Herdsman Lake’s daytime residents settle in for the evening, a whole new cast of characters begin to stir...
Join us for Creatures of the Night, a family fun evening of discovery! We'll be exploring the fascinating world of the crepuscular and nocturnal wildlife that call this wetland home. Learn from local experts as they reveal the secret lives, curious behaviours and surprising adaptations of native species that prefer the twilight hours.
Learn all about those who prowl, glide, chirp, ribbit and hunt after dark with a 15 minute introduction talk, then torch in hand (don't forget to bring your own), venture on a guided boardwalk walk and experience the lake after dark.
Keep your eyes peeled, your ears open and your sense of wonder switched on...
After the adventure, get cosy at our deluxe hot chocolate station, complete with whipped cream, marshmallows…
