About the Event
Immerse yourself in the world of our native bees with a one in a buzz-illion local bee ecologist and author!
Dr. Kit Prendergast, aka the Bee Babette, will do a live storytelling of her new Amy the Amegilla narratives, followed by a family friendly guided bee walk around our wetlands and some bee's knees craft fun!
Kit is one of Australia's leading researchers on native bees, with over 70 publications on native bees and was the 2025 Falling Walls Lab WA winner for her research on using bee hotels as tools to help recover native bees after bushfires. She is also a passionate advocate for evidence-based native bee conservation using engaging and entertaining outreach to inspire the community to understand, love and conserve our native bee populations.

TIME: Book reading starts at 10am
COST: $20 per child (Children 2 and under are free). Accompanying adult is free.
