The WA Gould League is thrilled to be hosting two unique events as part of Science Week 2024, that aim to give young people and those in underrepresented groups equitable access to STEM opportunities. 

‘A Masterclass in Herpetology - Surviving & Thriving is a workshop designed to share a range of expert perspectives with young people with special needs, who have an interest in animals, nature and the environment.

This 3-hour course delves into the fascinating world of reptiles and amphibians, with presentations by expert speakers, hands-on and engaging activities with local Animal Rescue organisations, and practical components with live animals. 

Along with Discovery Centre zoologists and ecologists, the day will include several guest presenters, including the teams from Animal Ark, Roaming Reptiles and the Department of Biodiversity,…
