About the Event

About: This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of birdwatching and meet like-minded people in the local community.

***As this event has been kindly sponsored by the WA Parks Foundation and their 'Spring Into Parks' initiative, there will be a free catered morning tea provided at the conclusion of the Bird Walk.***

Date: Third Sunday of the month  (please continue to check website for specific dates)

Time: 8 - 10am

Presenters: Birdlife Australia

Cost: FREE for WAGL Friends and Birdlife Australia members; $10 for general public. All funds raised go to WAGL to support our environmental educational programs and to keep the centre running. For Birdlife members, please notify our admin officer via email or phone that you will be attending and they can add you to the guest list.

What’s included: Presentation on Herdsman Lake birdlife, bird watching techniques and how to use binoculars effectively. Guided birdwalk around the picturesque Herdsman Lake where you are guaranteed to see a variety of birdlife. Also included is a catered brunch, tea and coffee making facilities and free entry to the Discovery Centre during the event. Barista coffee also available to purchase from our coffee window Twitchers. Binoculars will be provided for participants who don’t own a pair. 

What to bring: Water bottle, hat, suitable clothing for weather conditions (recommended not to wear anything bright), binoculars or spotting scope if you have one.

This event is supported by the WA Parks Foundation and their 'Spring Into Parks' initiative. 

Please note a COVID event plan will be in place – physical distancing, sanitization measures, and increased indoor ventilation will be in place, with the majority of the event held outdoors in open space.
