About the Event
Join ornithologist and filmmaker Simon Cherriman and environmental educator Danielle Chrichton in an exploration of Eagles! Build life-sized eagle nests as you learn about these majestic creatures, before having a special screening of 'Simmo's' awe-inspiring documentary "Where Do Eagles Dare?". Be treated with a Q&A session with the filmmaker himself!
At the age of 15, this award-winning environmental scientist, filmmaker and educator found a giant Wedge-tailed Eagle nest, inspiring him to spend more than half his life observing, studying and filming the majestic creatures before incorporating them into his tertiary education. Currently, Simon is undertaking PhD research on Wedge-tailed Eagle population dynamics and movement ecology at Murdoch University. "
"Where Do Eagles Dare?" - This one-hour documentary film by Simon Cherriman, tells the story of a world-first research project to satellite tag wedge-tailed eagles and follow their movements as they travelled across Australia at altitudes of up to 3000m!
Please note that this is NOT a drop-off programme, and all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Although the session is 3 hours, participants are able to enjoy the centre and surrounds for the day or enjoy a picnic on the grass afterwards. Tickets $40 per participant (Parents/Carers Free).
