JOIN HERDSMAN LAKE DISCOVERY CENTRE
The WA Gould League is looking for a pool of passionate staff and volunteers to help run our newly renovated Herdsman Lake Discovery Centre, where we will have all new wildlife enclosures, interactive displays, gift shop, coffee window, and a range of fun and interesting programs. If you are passionate about the natural world and love helping nurture this passion in others, then we would love to hear from you.
The WA Gould League is a not-for-profit organisation committed to nurturing a passion for nature through education, innovation and communication. It was formed in 1939 by the then Director of Education, Charles Hadley, and is still offering quality environmental and indigenous education over 80 years later!
Currently we are looking for casual staff and volunteers for a range of customer service and educational roles including:
Visitor Services – engaging with general public, responding to enquiries and bookings, running the gift shop and coffee window, animal husbandry, and supporting teaching staff.
Community Engagement/ Science communication – assisting lead educators with running school excursions and community events. Knowledge of wetland ecosystems essential.
Administration assistant – Assists with school and community Bookings and communication, reporting, accounting, invoicing and data management.
Animal Husbandry or wildlife handling skills, retail or hospitality experience is highly desired.
