Facilities and Services

The Herdsman Lake Wildlife Centre's facilities and services available for use include:

  • Living and static displays of wildlife and ecology

  • Raised viewing boardwalk

  • Walking trails

  • School and group excursions

  • Activities room

  • Observation deck with wonderful views over the lake

The Centre may also be hired for presentations, lectures, workshops or other activities. These may include the use of centre and the adjacent lake to demonstrate:

  • How the lake's animals and plants interact

  • Human impacts on an urban wetland system

  • How an urban wetland catchment functions

  • Feeding patterns between organisms

  • The types of plants and animals in wetlands

  • The local Nyungar and European settler history of the area
