Learning Experience tailored for: Family   DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY: prepare yourself for a close encounter with a range of live venomous snakes on display and overcome your phobias as you dare to touch a snake. Learn from professional snake handlers about living with snakes, venomous snake identification, first aid for snake bite and then enter the lair of Herdsman Lake's Tiger Snake on our famous Guided Swamp Board Walk. At the end of this activity students will: Be able to identify common snakes of Western Australia Appreciate how snakes fit into the natural ecosystem Have experienced and be able to describe the flora and fauna of the Tiger Snake habitat Have participated in and demonstrated the fundamentals of snake bite first aid Overcome their fears and have touched a snake Be able to describe snake adaptations to their environment Appreciate snakes as native fauna and be able to demonstrate awareness regarding the care of them and their natural habitat.
